Huh huh hellooo!

I’m a lazy asstard, a fact y’all probably already realize. Anyway, I have about 540 vacation photos and 10 short videos to go through so I can post them online for people to bore themselves with. ‘Cause who wants to look at pictures of people they don’t know and places they’ve never been? Actually, I love looking at other people’s vacation snaps, but I know many people have a major aversion to doing that very thing. Anyway, I haven’t gone through my stuff and put the good ones online yet, so it is a moot point.

I am pretty stoked about the videos of Grandpa’s steam engine, however. They turned out spectacularly. My grandpa kicks ass. I’m also particularly pleased with a couple of the hummingbird photos, and this one of Champ, my one aunt & uncle’s playful Labrador dog, chucking a drool-trailing tennis ball to me to throw for him.

So, last week, starting Saturday 4-16, we were on a whirlwind roadtrip out to California to visit family. We left KCMO around 8:30 a.m., hit Omaha around 11, collected my sister and her baggage, left Omaha around 11:30, and arrived at my grandparents’ house in rural Calaveras County at about 1:30 p.m. Pacific time on Sunday, 4-17. It was a long damn Volkswagen drive. On Monday, we went to the Big Trees National Park, and I took about four zillion and two photos, on Tuesday, we headed for SoCal to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins who live down that way, on Wednesday we headed back North to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins who live in the Bay Area, on Thursday, we went North some more, back to my grandparents’ house. Friday we chilled out at Grandma & Grandpa’s, Saturday we hit the road heading eastward, and Sunday around 11:30 a.m., we dropped Audrey off in Omaha, then deposited ourselves on our own front porch around 2:30 p.m. On Monday, I was back to work. I’ll fill in more details after I have photos to illustrate my journeys.

If you can believe it, I am still feeling a bit road weary. I’m catching up on a bunch of friends’ journals individually, doing a metric shit-ton of laundry, lavishing affection upon two neurotic cats, trying to whack my lawn and garden into shape, re-constructing a gigantic tee-shirt, sorting out photos, and seriously losing my mind.
