We went and saw “Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy” on Sunday matinee, and it was just about everything I hoped it would be. Marvin was cuter than I would have expected…I always envisioned him looking like a busted-down C3-PO, but he was all round and kawaii. He was suitably morose, however.
I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to see it but hasn't yet. I'll just say that I liked it a lot and hope they really do go to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
As evidenced by the photo above and the quote, they played the preview clip for “Herbie, Fully Loaded,” and it looks like it actually won't suck. Well, no more so than any of the previous Herbie movies. If you like kid movies and can handle very silly stories about a free-willed, animated, German compact car, then you're set. It looks like it will follow in the grand tradition of vehicular slapstick, and I'll probably go. I'm practically obligated.
