Back home

I got back last night actually, but I was seriously too brain fried to write anything.  I’d awakened around 4:00 a.m. yesterday for no good reason, and was on the run from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.-ish when we got on the plane.  We got back to Kansas City not real long after 5:00, but since I was relying on the bus system to get me home, I didn’t actually unlock my front door until 9:10 p.m.  Bleh.  Waiting for buses is one of my least-liked activities.

In that early 4:00-ish time, I smelled something awful; like a tire-fire in the hallway,  but luckily it wasn’t the hotel burning down, but something foul incinerating outside.  I called the hotel’s front desk to find out.  Since I was awake pre-dawn, I just hung around and read and drank tea, and checked out at 7:00, to go catch the streetcar into the Garden district and tour the Lafayette cemetary.  While I was walking around in the Garden District, I saw a cat who had to be one of Smallcat’s cousins, who was similarly hard to photograph, what with the prancing, head-butting, and wallowing around on the ground.  I did get one picture, which I will post later.  I am currently uploading pictures.  I’ll post pictures and my inmpressions of the trip later.
