Guess who had a bath?
My favorite little source of allergens got a good scrubdown today. Normally we try to bathe her once a month, but she hasn’t been bathed since before the wedding (something like 2.5 to 3 months) and she was dander-rific. She’s a component of the factors that sent me to the ER yesterday, so we gave her a bath tonight after dinner.
Joel held her down while I sudsed, scrubbed, and rinsed. Both Ruby and Griswald crowded into the bathroom to witness Minnie’s humiliation. Ruby sat beside me where I knelt on the floor, and Griswald perched on the sink and looked smugly down upon the proceedings. I’m not allergic to him, so he only gets bathed when he inevitably pisses on himself on trips to the vet.
Of course the indignities didn’t end in the bathroom. Ruby had to follow Minnie around, pushing her very last button.
Here’s Miss Roo, cruising for a bruising.
And here, she done got told by a laser-eyed psychokitty.
Later, when she was dryer and feeling back up to her normal levels of sass, she came into my workroom and tried to eat my Singer. Luckily, even Minnie is no match for vintage American steel.
I’ve been working on a new jacket. Looks pretty good, eh?
Weeeell…maybe not so good. Yup, the evil iron of doom has struck again. I’ve decided that I can live with the little melt mark between the two gold chrysanthemums, but the burn on the sleeve is nearly 3″ long and shows up pretty badly. Fortunately, I have just enough scrap fabric to cut a replacement sleeve, but I am probably not going to finish this jacket until I can get a different iron. This one is just too chancey. That temperature adjustment lever is a terrible design and it has wrecked two fairly fabulous projects.
Burn or no burn, that jacket is fantastic. Your sewing skillz blow me away. Can’t wait to see a pic of it on you when you’re done – the colours will look perfect on you.
I would probably unleash violence upon that iron.
I hope you’re feeling better. The pictures of a wet Minnie Pearl are hilarious.
That cat is awesome!
She’s kind of a stinker, and she drives me nuts a lot of the time, but she has her moments of charm.
Doing a lot better – and keeping the cat up-to-date on her baths does help.
