I made a new hat yesterday because my old hat wasn’t warm enough. This one, with two layers of ultrasuede, one of Thinsulate, and an inner lining of satin, ought to do the trick:
It’s on my silver alien head because I can’t take a picture of myself right now, with my shoulder all jacked up.
It’s an old McCall’s pattern (2782) which is now out of print, but I bet you can find it on Ebay or similar if you really want a copy. It’s super easy…this is about the 5th or 6th hat I have made from this pattern. I’ve used heavyweight flannel, velvet, and ultrasuede, all to good effect.
