Progress continues over at my mother-in-law’s house. Pretty soon we’ll be able to begin on re-configuring it.
I’ll try to find my grid paper and draw out the original configuration of the house, how it was before I began demolition, and how it will be when it is done. But for now, feel free to marvel at the godawful mess I have wrought.
I may have missed this somewhere else, but why the bustification of the house?
It’s in preparation for re-configuring an old shotgun house to a “railroad” house for my Mother-In-Law. She and I bought it together. The front room (where I was standing to take this picture) is going to be bigger, the bedroom will be moved back, and the bathroom is going to be relocated entirely. When it is done, it will have a hallway down the east side so that you don’t have to go through each room to access the next.
This is the other project that came out of the shotgun (house).
