An unlikely coffin

Once, when I was a little kid, an older boy who was the son of one of my parents' friends convinced me that my dad's guitar case was a vampire's coffin.

I was terrified of that guitar case for months. So much so that I'd have nightmares at night, then want to go downstairs and climb in bed with my parents, but Dad's guitar and amp were set up at the foot of the stairs at the time, so I'd have had to pass the dreaded guitar case, and goodness only knows but that Kaye-shaped vampire would have gotten me.

Now that I'm grown, of course, I know that any vampire shaped like an electric guitar would have far more to worry about than a stake through the heart, a clove of garlic, or a vial of holy water. There's always Marilyn Manson to consider…
